Trapezoids are of two types based on the sides – 1) scalene and 2) isosceles trapezoid.
When none of the sides of a trapezoid are congruent, then it is a non isosceles trapezoid or a scalene trapezoid. Since the four sides are of different lengths, they form 4 angles of unequal measures at the four vertices. It has two parallel sides (bases) and two non-parallel sides (legs). It exhibits all the properties of a trapezoid.
Visit the chapter on trapezoid to learn about the properties and formulas to find the area and perimeter of a scalene trapezoid.
